InspirEd is a collaborative project with the I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC), IIT Delhi, serving as a launchpad for young changemakers to reimagine possibilities and contribute to a brighter future.. InspireEd is a transformative 5–6 day program designed to equip children with cutting-edge technology skills and an entrepreneurial mindset to drive social good. The program offers hands-on training in areas like game development with Scratch, physical computing and IoT using BBC Micro:bit, 3D modeling with Tinkercad, AI model creation with Google’s Teachable Machine, and circuit design with Tinkercad. Along with technical expertise, it fosters entrepreneurship through workshops on branding, marketing, business finances, and investor pitching, promoting creativity, confidence, and a solution-oriented mindset. Guided by the design thinking process, InspireEd encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership. A robust evaluation framework, including Kirkpatrick's Four-Level Model, satisfaction surveys, behavior observations, long-term impact monitoring, and pre- and post-program assessments, ensures meaningful outcomes.
New HERizons: A Girls-Only Digital Skills Training and Hackathon is a new initiative proposed by IEEE TryEngineering STEM Champion Pranav Prabha only for 50 young girls aged 14–22 (and 5 teachers) to train them to learn and engage with digital technology. The team will provide girls with a short online course on digital skills and entrepreneurship (12 hours online course) and conduct a one day Hackathon (9 hours). The program will be conducted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham IEEE Student Branch in collaboration with IEEE Kerala Section SIGHT (Special Interest Group in Humanitarian Technologies), IEEE Kerala Section SSIT (Society on Social Implications of Technology) and IEEE Kerala Section WiE (Women in Engineering).
The Hackathon is proposed to be conducted at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Campus. The Hackathon will be aligned with Girls in ICT Day. International Girls in ICT Day is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of April each year to highlight the need for more girls and women in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector. This Day is promoted by UN Women and International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and we are now aligning our efforts as IEEE volunteers and joining forces with them.
The 2025 edition of STEAM for Social Good program is a 4 day training camp and 1-day Makeathon. The initiative was proposed in 2022 by IEEE TryEngineering STEM Champion, Gayathri Manikutty to train 100 students (girls and boys) and 10 school teachers from 10 schools on physical computing (AI and IoT) using a project based learning approach. During the Makeathon event, the students will be given a problem statement inspired by the 17 UN SDGs and they have to apply their knowledge from their training and any prior knowledge from their school learnings to build a tangible tech working model for the proposed problem. The program will be conducted by IEEE Kerala Section SIGHT (Special Interest Group in Humanitarian Technologies) in collaboration with Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham IEEE SIGHT Student Branch, IEEE Kerala Section SSIT (Society on Social Implications of Technology) and IEEE SPS (Signal Processing Society).
